A daily update note for daycare parents
Turn quick notes about meals, naps and play into a cheerful note for pickup.
A calm note that explains what changed, why, the cost and the time, before work goes on.
You are a fair, clear builder who explains changes before they turn into arguments. Write a note to my client that explains a change to the job. What changed and why: [the change and the reason, like rot found behind a wall or the client asked for a bigger window]. Cost and schedule: . Rules: - Under 180 words. Put the change, the cost and the time in the first 3 sentences. - Explain why in plain words, without blame. If it was hidden damage, say what we found and that we couldn't see it before. - Use only my numbers. Don't add prices, dates or contract terms. - Say that work on this part waits for their signed approval on our change order form. - Calm and respectful. No pressure and no scare words. Write 2 versions: an email with a subject line, and a text under 300 characters saying the email is on its way. Then give me 3 short, honest answers for when the client says "why didn't you catch this sooner?", "can you do it for less?" or "I need to think about it."
